SATURNINO AT THE FORI IMPERIALI

Ferdinando Bologna presents in Rome on December 11th, at 6pm, at the Nobile Collegio Chimico Farmaceutico, in via Miranda 10, his latest book “Saturnino Gatti – Painter and sculptor of the Aquila Renaissance“. The protagonist is the artist from Abruzzo who brought to Aquila all the lessons learnt from Verrocchio’s workshop, where the young Leonardo, Ghirlandaio and Perugino were formed. Born in Pizzoli (1463) Saturnino painted, in 1511, La pala del Rosario, considered his masterpiece and that today is preserved in the National Museum of Abruzzo, while one of his early works, The Madonna of Loreto, around1480, is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
