Palazzo Strozzi celebrates, until January 12th 2019, the genius of Natalia Goncharova (1881•1962) a leading artist of the last century.
The Florentine exhibition, curated by Ludovica Sebregondi, explores the unconventional life and career of the Russian painter, graphic and costume designer, presenting 130 artworks, also in comparison with masterpieces by celebrated masters such as Balla, Boccioni, Gaugin, Matisse, Picasso and short films by Sergei Eisenstein.
On a journey from the Russian countryside to Moscow, to Paris, to Rome, the show gives an account of an unorthodox woman, who lived her art as a fusion of Eastern and Western tradition and innovation, as a never-ending experimentation with different genres and styles.
Many events are scheduled in Florence related to the exhibition https://www.palazzostrozzi.org/speciali/ciclo-di-conferenze-intorno-a-natalia-goncharova-e-allavanguardia/?lang=it&idmostra=10767
