DORMIENTI E COCCODRILLI (SLEEPING ONES AND CROCODILES) BY MIMMO PALADINO

at the Museo Marino Marini in Florence

The installation “Sleeping ones and crocodiles” of the artist Mimmo Paladino (Paduli, near Benevento, 1948) exhibited for the first time in the Fonte delle Fate in Poggibonsi in 1998, finds its relevance at the Marino Marini Museum in Florence for the occasion of Ytalia (until 2nd October 2017). In this set-up, dozens of terracotta bodies, made in the primordial forms by the Ceramiche Gatti of Faenza, in fetal positions, sometimes covered with fragments of an everlasting placenta, seem to be the next prey of crocodiles that emerge from the shadow with threatening intentions.
