From March 9th to July 14th 2019, Florence celebrates Andrea del Verrocchio, a pivotal artist of the Renaissance and master of Leonardo da Vinci. A large exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, with a special section at the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, hosts over 120 works including paintings, sculptures and drawings from the most important museums and collections in the world.
“Verrocchio, the master of Leonardo” is the first major retrospective dedicated to Andrea del Verrocchio and brings together extraordinary masterpieces of the Master in close confrontation with works of precursors, contemporary artists and disciples such as Desiderio da Settignano, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino, Bartolomeo della Gatta, Lorenzo di Credi and Leonardo da Vinci.
